What a fantastic weekend Deborah and I had at The Sydney Fair 2017!
We had lots of loyal customers come and see us and new customers whom we had the absolute pleasure of dressing in beautiful vintage.
Being at the fair may sound glamorous but a lot work both physically and mentally goes into preparing for an event like this. Weeks prior to the event we make sure that all our stock is in excellent ready to wear condition and at an event like this we are very selective about the quality of product we wish to take with us. Let’s not even get into all those little price tags that need to be written up…
On the day of the event it was a 5.30am start arriving at the venue at 7am. We unloaded the van and just over 4 hours later our stall looked just like a shop and it was beautiful. As you can imagine by this time we were already feeling tired and this was just the beginning. Knowing that everything was in order we grabbed some lunch, had a couple of hours down time and then it was time to get ready for opening night.
The doors opened at 6pm and the customers poured in. What a beautiful site the hall was, everyones stands were superb and the lighting just made everything sparkle. The wine flowed and every body thoroughly enjoyed themselves.
All we had to do now was get through the next three days… We were so fortunate to have some of our amazing dresses included in the fashion parade. It was fabulous to catch up with old Sydney friends and make some new friends too, but the highlight of it all was seeing the joy on the faces of the beautiful women when they found their perfect vintage item.
I’m home now and eagerly working on my next event, a 1950s vintage clothing exhibition at the award winning Maygars Hill Cellar Door, Longwood East.
